Hello to our phenomenal AVUHSD staff, students, families, and community! We hope everyone has been having a restful and joyous holiday break with their loved ones!
In honor and celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, we invite all of you to join us, alongside our community, to the City of Lancaster’s Annual Justice Sunday Festival and Performance this Sunday, January 14th held on Lancaster Boulevard and the Lancaster Performing Arts Center.
Each year the City of Lancaster, in partnership with Future Leaders California, Justice Sunday Alumni, the National Alliance of Faith and Justice, and the AVUHSD, observe MLK’s legacy on Justice Sunday.
Lancaster Boulevard will host the Annual Justice Sunday Festival from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Local vendors, food stands, live entertainment, activities, resource booths, and more will be present for a lively, fun, and educational event!

At 4:00 PM the theatrical performance “Enticed: A Dream Deferred” will be held at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC)! Enticed: A Dream Deferred will be performed by our AVUHSD students alongside the Justice Sunday Alumni. The Justice Sunday program brings together our AVUHSD students to allow them to develop their leadership and performance skills through writing and producing an annual black history play together over their Winter Break. This is a student led play that is guided by Justice Sunday Alumni.
We hope to see you and your families there to honor and celebrate MLK’s legacy, as well as to be inspired by the future leaders educating and leading our community!
