DELAC Meeting at the DO

Wednesday, November 29th

The AVUHSD Office hosted a District English Learner Advisory Committee meeting from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 29th!

Parents gathered in the District Boardroom for breakfast, raffle prizes, and presentations of the various resources the AVUHSD has to offer! Superintendent, Greg Nehen, greeted over 40 parents who attended in-person and approximately 77 parents and staff who attended virtually!

The meeting included presentations from guest speakers Dr. Andy Glatfelter, AAV Principal and Mr. Derek Myles, AAV Counselor to share key information about the Virtual Academy we have here at the AVUHSD.

Dr. Jennifer Slater-Sanchez gave a key presentation regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and welcomed survey feedback from parents! The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), is a strategic document that outlines goals, actions, and budget allocations to improve student outcomes. It promotes local decision-making, transparency, and community engagement. The LCAP involves gathering input from educational partners, setting goals aligned with state priorities, developing strategies and actions, and tracking progress. It is reviewed and updated annually to ensure it remains responsive to changing needs and drives improvements in student outcomes and educational equity.

Our wonderful DELAC Meeting ended with a super fun raffle for prizes for our incredible parents! Thank you to all the parents and staff who attended the meeting, we are thrilled every time we get to interact and work together with our fantastic AVUHSD families!
